Some Texas elected officials think there is no difference between drafting a fantasy line-up and rolling the dice at a craps table. But anyone who plays fantasy sports knows that it is a game of skill. Whether a participant wins or loses depends entirely on his or her skills in selecting a lineup, the same skills Jason Garrett or Bill O’Brien use to draft players and set their lineups, not on a roll of the dice or flip of a card.
Like many states, Texas’ laws were written long before fantasy sports existed. We need residents from across Texas to let their elected officials know that they want them to pass legislation that updates Texas laws for the 21st Century and affirm that fantasy sports are a game of skill and that Texans can continue to play the games they love.
